USA shipping is now on a brief pause until the end of August to ensure compliance with the new tariffs. We will not be taking orders for orders to the USA during this pause as we have to update our software for tariff collection.
We will reopen USA shipping and orders on 1st September. Thank you to all our American customers for your patience and your support.
What is changing?
On the 30th July 2025 Executive order 14324 was signed by President Trump.
This order ends the De Minimis customs exemption for all parcels entering the USA.
This exemption had previously allowed all orders under $800 to pass straight through customs and as such they were exempt from any duties or tariffs.
From the 29th August all parcels entering the USA from any country will now be subject to tariff charges.
To ease the extra administrative burden on customs agents the USA is permitting them to apply flat rate charges for a period of 6 months on all parcels arriving by the international postage system rather than calculating the tariff value correctly on the actual order value.
This flat rate for the UK is set at $80. Per item.

What is Archies Forge Doing?
We are temporarily suspending USA orders effective Sunday 17th August. This is to ensure that all USA orders are shipped and arrive in the states before the 29th August deadline.
We will then reopen shipping to the USA on the 1st September.
Shipping to the USA will now be via courier rather than post. This means all orders should arrive within 10 working days once dispatched.
Shipping costs will not be increasing.
However a 10% tariff charge will now be added at checkout for all USA orders. We will then use this to pay the tariff charges in advance of items arriving at customs so USA customers will not need to pay anything more and all upfront costs will be shown.
We are not making any profit from this situation. Infact the switch from postal shipment to courier will have a negative financial impact on us which will we be absorbing the costs of. However we simply cannot absorb both that and the tariff costs.
This change will also mean we will be unable to ship some items including brushes and tufts to the USA. As these are not manufactured in the UK and as such will attract much higher tariff costs.
Summary
Tariffs now apply to Archies Forge orders at a rate of 10%
These will apply to orders placed from the 1st September 2025.
We will be suspending USA orders between the 18th and 31st August to ensure all orders processed in suitable time.
No increased postage costs but tariffs will be charged at checkout.
We are not making any additional profit from this. All monies collected are going straight to the USA Government.
